Yankees vs Mariners = Ten run mercy rule?

So, I seriously think that MLB needs to take a lesson from Little League. When the Yankees take the field, and they absolutely dominate with CC on the mound, I am pretty sure both teams would rather turn in early and call it a game instead of finishing. Let’s use tonight for example.

In a night that was dominated from the first inning, everyone could see the heads of the Seattle Mariners hanging. The New York Yankees brought their “A” game to the ballpark tonight, while the Mariners thought they were showing up for practice, or so it seemed.

Hideki Matsui homered twice while Derek Jeter also went yard to help back the ever so dominating CC Sabathia en route of an 11-1 beating of the Mariners. The big left hander won his third straight start, bringing his season total to 13. He held the poor Mariners to three hits while walking two and striking out a season high 10.

If you were a Mariner, wouldn’t you want to go home? My point exactly.

Matsui, with a four-hit, five-RBI game was more than enough as the Yankees pounded Ian Snell, a pitcher they’d shown some level of interest in last month while he was still chucking in the Pirates club, for eight runs in six-plus innings. I am sure Snell would agree with my desure to bring the mercy rule into play.
