Big 8th inning leads Yankees over Blue Jays 7-5
I am not going to lie. The Yankees were scaring me a little bit tonight. I mean, come on, going into the bottom of the eighth trailing by one, and about to lose two games in a row to the Blue Jays. Yeah, there was some nail biting going on for sure.
But then, Hideki Matsui and Jorge Posada came through in the clutch. I will just keep it simple and say, back to back homers to start off the eighth. Then, a string of hits, and bada-boom bada-bang, the Yanks are up two and Mo baby comes to the mound to sit them down. Enough said?
The Yankees have hit consecutive home runs in three straight games for the first time since 1983 and has hit bak to back jacks 13 times this season. A thing of beauty isn’t it?
Johnny Damon and Derek Jeter each had three hits tonight for the Yankees. They are now 5-1 for their seven game homestand. Melky Cabrera had two RBI’s on his 25th birthday.
The big daddy on the mound, Joba Chamberlain, allowed four runs and five hits in his six innings on the bump. Joba was staring at his first loss since June 18 before the eighth inning hitting fest occurred. I am sure he had a sigh of relief.
I could go on and on with the stats about both teams, but let me save you and me some time, and I will keep it simple: The Yankees beat the Blue Jays at home, 7-5. Enough said.

Hey man, that is totally true. Why are the Yankees even letting some of these teams win a game or two. We should not be losing to Toronto
